In the year 2000, various therapies like hydro-therapy, aroma therapy, and La Stone gained popularity. Simultaneously, color and light therapy emerged as a discipline, albeit lacking originality. Lumia Science stepped in to revolutionize this field with its unique approach called “Lumia Therapy.” At Lumia, we introduce and apply color and light therapy to the body, emphasizing its rejuvenative qualities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to connect spas, salons, resorts, and individuals with Lumia Therapists. We are committed to offering the latest products, services, and education related to Lumia Therapy. Additionally, we strive to establish color and light therapy (referred to as “LUMIA”) as a globally recognized alternative healing modality.

The Science Behind Light Therapy

Over the past 75 years, independent research worldwide has consistently supported the efficacy of light therapy. Visible and non-visible light has been shown to bring about at least 24 positive changes at the cellular level.

While the exact mechanism of action is still under study, experts generally agree that photons from light are absorbed by the skin and underlying tissues. This process, known as “photo-biomodulation,” triggers biological changes within the body. Monochromatic light (single-color light) accelerates specific cellular metabolic processes, including increased mitochondrial activity, altered electrophysiological properties of cell membranes, and enzyme activation. These changes lead to positive chemical reactions.
